    LA County detectives are investigating an assault on on a 12-year-old boy which may have been incited by a Facebook group message referencing a 2005 South Park episode. "The boy was kicked and hit in two separate incidents (...) by as many as 14 of his classmates." The attack followed a Facebook message promoting that date as Kick a Ginger Day." Sadly, not the first time for such stupidity.

    I was reading a Cool Tools review of a company that puts any image on blinds, wallpaper, or flooring, and one of the comments led me to some fantastic illusions made using photo prints on the floor.     One thing that adds to the unique nature of the WPX Contest is that single operator entries are limited to a maximum operating time. While there have always been a few operators who chaffed at the idea of having to get off the radio, most people seem to enjoy the ability to be competitive without the stress of going sleepless for two days! For many years the limit was 30 hours. Even though it has been 20 years since the limit was raised to 36 hours, we are still getting requests to return to the 30 hour limit. The survey seemed like a great opportunity to find out what the participants think.

    A truly good fight scene is like a beautiful dance, only 100 times more brash, bloody and badass.  Many of today’s movies are stuck in a torrid love affair with special effects rather than letting the fight speak for itself. It’s time to open a can of whoop-ass and highlight the most renowned fight scenes in cinematic history.
